International Canoe Open Northern Championships – West Kirby

WKSC welcomes International Canoe Sailors on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August 2026.

Notice of Race:

Saturday 29/8/26

HW 12:33 8.72 Mtrs

First race start – 11:00, races 2 & 3 sailed back to back.

Sunday 30/8/26

HW13:03 8.81 Mtrs

Fourth race start – 11:30, races 5 & 6 sailed back to back.

Please note that WKSC Handicap race starts will follow the IC starts on Sunday.

Racing is for an IC Class Trophy

ENTRY FEE £40 for the weekend includes bacon butties at registration from 09:00 on Saturday.

PYs as per 2026 National Championships.

3 races to be sailed to constitute Northern championship.

5 races to be sailed before 1 discard allowed.

The last race each day is likely to be shorter and will be subject to tide.

Parking at the club is limited to the lake apron. The padlock code for the lake apron is 8545. Please close and padlock the gate after you enter or leave.

Sailing Instructions will be available at registration.

Organising Authority. The organising authority is West Kirby Sailing Club.

 The Open Meeting will be governed by Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), RYA prescriptions and the Sailing Instructions which take precedence in the event of any difference with the Notice of Race or other relevant documents changing Rule 63.7.

Eligible boats must have:      

i           a current measurement certificate available for inspection.

ii          a minimum of £3,000,000 third party insurance.

iii         Correctly numbered sails unless prior written permission is given by the Race

             Committee, varying Rule 77.

Adequate personal flotation must be worn whilst afloat
